Geophysics alum Nathaniel Putzig (’86), now with the Planetary Science Institute, along with his team of researchers, has just published work on a new polar map of Mars. The team used radar data collected by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter to explore the subsurface of Mars. For the first time, they took images of an impact crater and a buried canyon.
