Dr. Paul Sava has been named as Department Head for the Department of Geophysics. Dr. Sava has been serving as Interim Department Head since the summer of 2019 and steps into his new role immediately.
As a Geophysics Professor and Green Chair of Exploration Geophysics, Dr. Sava has been instrumental in co-directing the Center for Wave Phenomena and in pioneering work related to the exploration for resources in space. He seeks to expand the presence of Geophysics within the Colorado School of Mines and to ensure that Geophysics graduates are well prepared to use their multidisciplinary skills in a variety fields.
