Assistant Professor, Geophysics
Ge Jin has joined the faculty of the Department of Geophysics effective Fall 2019. Dr. Jin holds dual BSc degrees in Geophysics and Computer Science, and a MSc degree in Geophysics and Seismology, from Peking University, and a PhD in Geophysics and Seismology from Columbia University. He has worked as a Geophysicist and most recently as a Senior Geophysicist with ConocoPhillips in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Jin’s research focuses on Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) and Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) data analysis and interpretation. Research interest focused on hydraulic fracturing monitoring and fiber-optic based production logging. In addition to teaching and advising in the Department, he will join the Reservoir Characterization Project as a co-Principal Investigator.
