The Geological Society of America (GSA) will honor Dr. Warren Hamilton with the special topical session, “Unconventional Ideas and Outrageous Hypotheses.”

This special session, part of the GSA 2019 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Phoenix, Arizona in September, is an interdisciplinary session to present and discuss innovative ideas from any branch of earth or planetary science.  Dr. Hamilton, who died in October 2018, was widely regarded for his contributions to the study of Plate Tectonics, planetary evolution, and geology here in the Western U.S.  A complete description of the session can be found here.
