CGEMaestro

A major advancement in technology that brings all GMRC and CGEM deliverables from the past, present and future together into a single and simple to operate application. It has been developed with a GUI which will ultimately enable sponsors to run all inversion algorithms, process their potential field datasets with old and new technologies, as well as plot and implement grid utility codes. The greatest benefit of the application is that it will bring these separate research developments together, not only through a single environment, but also by standardizing all model and data formats to allow easy movement from one process to another. The application is mostly developed and already linked to several software deliverables created specifically for the sponsors of GMRC, such as BININV3D, TERRACE, GZSURF, GG3D, and GGFREQ. Additionally, utility algorithms have been incorporated in the CGEMaestro, such as the gridding and plotting of XYZ data (GridXYZ). The package will continue to grow. Input from our sponsors will be collected each year during the Annual Meetings and throughout each year from personal communications.

Program tabs separate linked algorithms into defined categories.




CGEMaestro is currently comprised of 5 main tabs which separate all the linked algorithms from GMRC and CGEM into distinct categories. These include tabs for Home (background information on the application), Processing and Inversion, Forward Modeling (of Gravity, Magnetic and Gradient Data), Inversion (of Gravity and Magnetics Data), and Interpretation Tools. While current design of CGEMaestro application has already been created based on the early imagination of CGEM’s members, later versions may demonstrate any level of modification based on updated needs as a research and educational facility, and given reasonable recommendations from our GMRC sponsors.

At this early stage of development we have begun to link a handful of practical algorithms to the application. One example of our newest deliverables is shown below. The algorithm, fully tested and developed with the GUI presented may be opened directly through the ‘Processing/Utilities’ Tab of CGEMaestro by clicking on the ‘Terrace’ button. Necessary documentation for each linked program will be provided along with those programs as they become available. For example, ‘Terrace’ has been recently delivered to the sponsors of GMRC with full documentation on the algorithm’s background and implementation instruction which includes the GUI interface. Additional programs linked to CGEMaestro are also presented below. Several of the linked applications are already in operation and are currently undergoing de-bugging, while others are in the GUI design stage waiting to be linked to their computational programs. Finally, there are programs waiting to be developed and linked to CGEMaestro from both past and future algorithms. Ordering of linked programs will be determined by members of CGEM and in cooperation with the sponsors of GMRC.
